I was a big fan of Book's 1 and 2 because Kelly's portrayal as a strong independent woman. The theme that sometimes a woman has to figure things out in her own life first before she's ready for a deep and fulfilling relationship really resonated with me. I was conflicted prior to reading the book as to who Kelly's HEA should be. I was surprised but excited to see the two endings, which is such an innovative twist. I was so happy with the way the whole James storyline evolved. There were challenges for both of them, but in the end it was resolved well. I was not going to read the Phil storyline, but then I caved, and while I like Phil as a character, the travails that Kelly went through in this storyline was definitely heartbreaking. Also while I think Melanie did a good job laying the ground work for why Jimmy turned out to be such a DB, and his eventual remorse, it was a hard to see characters I really liked go through that. Regardless, I thought the dual ending was a good compromise for those on Team Jimmy/Team Phil.

Also as a side note, I was so happy to see this book released on a day early on Sunday so I could spend my afternoon reading and not have to wait all day at work to start this book on Monday.

Kelly has 2 men in her life and she's having the toughest decision in trying to decide on who she wants to be with, Jimmy or Phil? So in Tanaka style on her pros and cons she chooses to date both guys casually and see who she wants to be with. After months of back and forth dating Phil bows out and Jimmy is proclaimed the winner. Kelly must leave Canada and move to Chicago with Jim since he plays NHL. Things are in the honeymoon stage at first but then start taking a turn. Jimmy starts changing Kelly and she isn't the only one to take notice....

This book has alternate ending and I read the one where she ends up with Phil.....

I like how there is 2 endings and readers can choose how they want Kellys fate to be! It was a little different and new but it works!
I was given this book by the author for an honest review.
The third book really threw me off guard about half of the way through. I won't give away why, but trust me, you will get thrown, too. It ended exactly the way I wanted it to. And trust me, you will be satisfied, too. What I loved most about this book was once again, once the choices were finally finally made, Kelly triumphed again. She was able to change and mature and find herself again, but man was it painful to read. I just kept wanting to scream and shake her. But even by the last chapter, she made an impact on the man she leaves. He becomes a better man. I think sometimes, we have to go through the really crappy stuff to emerge a better person. That is Kelly in a nutshell. It has been an intense three day read a thon binging on Ting's novels but alas it now time to sleep. Get ready for a great experience with this trilogy.

Overall, I really enjoyed this whole series. I think the author did a nice job developing all three main characters and the secondary characters seemed very realistic and added to the story line. And she kept the tension up very nicely throughout. I liked that I really had no idea which guy Kelly would choose.

Spoiler Alert

I was a happy camper right up to the point Kelly came up with her idea to date both Jimmy and Phil. Normally I dislike love triangles in general, but the author developed a realistic situation, so okay, whatever, I was invested to see it through to the end at this point. Those scenes were great, even if all three were starting to lose their like-ability toward the end. Then I turned the page and suddenly we're in a Choose Your Own Adventure where one ending is for Kelly/Jimmy and one is Kelly/Phil. I really disliked having to choose which ending to read first. Because of course I had to read them both. I felt it was a bit of a cop out on the author's part. But whatever.

So of the 2 endings, I liked the Kelly/Jimmy one best. I felt it was better developed and written, and the characters seemed more true to themselves. I didn't go into this ending preferring Jimmy over Phil, but this ending seemed more in line with what would've naturally happened. The Kelly/Phil ending seemed like the characters regressed to their high school selves and never really matured. I didn't feel that Kelly, who had been independent and adventurous throughout the series, would've done or put up with half of the things Jimmy did in this version. I get what the author was trying to convey but it missed the mark for me.

I give Book 3 4-stars but the entire series is 4.5-stars.
I was so into this story and all of the main characters. I hated the choose your own ending. The author needs to tell the story. I read both endings and hated how Phils happy ending was so dark towards Jimmy.
Someone cheated. That's not okay. Author gives us the choice to pick a side but if you read both, the author's bias is so clear is makes me sick.
I loved the solid character development of Kelly and Phil! I loved seeing them all grow up and mature. I remember reading this story initially in the blogs and was rooting for James but after your updates, Phil is the right man for Kelly. She followed her heart every step of the way even though she did get hurt at times.

I really enjoyed the first two books but halfway through this one I got annoyed. The author lets you choose who you want her to end up with and that just threw me over the edge. I didn't want to pick I wanted this pre defined. I read both endings and I have to say that I liked Phil's ending better. But either ending were so hated to get through.
